Ellias Barnès, 30-letni utalentowany projektant mody, staje przed zawodową szansą życia w paryskim domu mody. Jednak nagła śmierć ojca zmusza go do powrotu do rodzinnego Montréalu, miasta, które opuścił lata temu, by zorganizować pochówek. Ten powrót staje się dla Elliasa bolesną podróżą do przeszłości, z której starał się uciec.
